Roleplaying is, on its most basic level, acting. Roleplaying is pretending to be someone or something you aren't. When you were young and played Cowboys & Indians, or Cops & Robbers, or simply played with dolls, you were roleplaying. If you've ever played Dungeons & Dragons (© TSR) you were roleplaying. Even today, with modern technology, most computer games are, in a sense, roleplaying, because even as you fly a sophisticated jet fighter, drive a high-speed race car, or simply run around blowing up alien creatures, you are pretending to be someone other than yourself - you are acting out a role within the game world. Needless to say, almost everyone has, at one time or another, roleplayed. There's nothing required - no props are necessary if you have a good imagination. You can make up the story yourself as you go along. You don't even need anyone else, all you need is your own imagination. When you get together with other people, all with good imaginations and a willingness to suspend reality for a while, you can have more fun than you thought possible. That's what Exile is - fun. We saw the roleplaying games in other states, and the lack of them around Columbia, and decided to have a little fun of our own. Now, as we go forward with play-testing of our rule system, we invite you to come along with us, on a journey into the depths of the human imagination, to experience the creativity we all harbor within ourselves, and to get away from the frustrations of the real world for a while.
